The AFF provides a framework for strategic discussions on key issues facing the development of Arab financial markets, linking key decision-makers and practitioners from the public and private sectors in the Arab world and their international counterparts.
Arab economies are at cross-roads. The challenges of economic diversification, job creation and globalisation will be met by countries in a variety of ways. AFF brings together leading groups and individuals involved with current challenges to exchange views, disseminate and initiate research papers and identify best practice ideas and experience as part of evolutionary processes.
The three main challenges addressed by the AFF are:
- Development of Arab capital markets
- Economic liberalisation
- Integration of Islamic finance
AFF achieves its objective by coordinating national and international conferences, commissioning and distributing discussion papers, regular briefings with financial commentators, government advisors and think tanks and through monthly newsletters via its website.
AFF is chaired by HE Dr. Abdulla Bishara, Vice-Chairman of KIPCO and former Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council. The Advisory Board coordinates the Arab Financial Forum’s future programmes.
